Bailey DuPay

Bailey DuPay is only a freshman at Northfield, but she is already accustomed to performing at a high level on the big stage.

The three-sport athlete is currently trying to lead the Raiders to their third consecutive Class 2A gymnastics title. In the fall, DuPay won the Class 1A diving championship by nearly 70 points at the state swimming meet.

DuPay will be a member of the track team in the spring as a pole vaulter.

Here is a closer look at DuPay:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "Gladiator."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Young, Wild and Free" by Wiz Khalifa; "Not Over You," by Gavin DeGraw; "Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Bubbly, entertaining; and crazy!

How do you balance school and sports during the year? It's definitely hard balancing school and sports, but if you take the time you need on homework after practice and before bed, you normally do well.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... good about myself and knew I was good enough to be one of the girls I used to look up to.

What did you work on in the offseason? I'm a three-sport athlete, so when it's not one sport, it's the other. And during the summer, I baby-sit my little brother.

Favorite meal before a sporting event? Spaghetti dinners.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Winning the state championship in diving.

What were your goals entering the 2011-12 season? Work as hard as I can and reach my full potential.

To get focused for competition, I ...visualize and focus on the event, not the crowd.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... they get down on themselves for not doing their best, but I continue to have confidence in myself.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Roseville because they are the team that has been the closest to our team score (gymnastics), but anything could happen.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? That all sports were as close teammate-wise as we, the gymnastics team, are.

When you have time off during vacation, what do you like to do? Go four-wheeling, snowboarding and be with my friends and family.

Do you have a secret talent - and if so, what is it? Burping on command.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Alabama gymnastics team because no matter what happens, they always have good team spirit.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... in college working my way up to become a doctor.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "There's always time for perfection, that time just wasn't today."
