Some questions for and answers from Stillwater senior Kylie Wittl:

Most memorable moment as a high school athlete? The section meet last year. Stillwater hosted it and it was a really cool experience to see how the whole thing ran.

You had a disappointing section meet, losing a tiebreaker in the all-around. How difficult was that? It was tough, but I still got to go to state in the floor exercise. That was a great experience. I'm hoping things go better this year.

Coming from a club gymnastics background, how eye-opening was the high school state meet? It was huge. I've never been to a meet that big before. Going from club to high school, you get noticed so much more.

How old were you when you first started gymnastics? I was 5 years old. I started as a dancer, but I flipped around the room too much so they sent me to tumbling class.

How important is gymnastics? It's a really big part of my life. It's taught me more than just sports. It's taught me about character, responsibility, organization. I don't know what I'd do without it.

Gymnastics is ... Something I look forward to every day. Gets my mind off the stresses in life.

Favorite event? Definitely the [uneven] bars. I've always liked being able to fly around, doing giants and shootovers. It's cool to see people reactions to some of it. They look at it like it's unimaginable.

A food you cannot resist: A Chipotle carnitas burritos. No beans, just rice.
